Meet Maria Snyder on April 24th at Liberty Science Center and get introduced to her Eco Boys & Girls
In this era of transition, where many new green and socially responsible companies develop their enterprises, I am often surprised how people get defensive about synergies and partnerships. One would assume that while we all have the same goal : making our individual lives richer, preserve and restore our biodiversity, discover more efficient technologies, contribute to the elevation of quality of life, …, we would also look forward to forge new synergies with people who operate in a similar market segment.
While I was in San Francisco, I attended a local Green Drinks Network chapter and talked to several people. I met a representative from a green consulting group to whom I suggested to collaborate with me as to set up a new Chapter for my Sustainable Planet film festival, which would in turn offer an opportunity to showcase their commitment to enrich the understanding of Sustainability to the mainstream and present their projects to the attendees. The negative response summarized itself in a simple “we operate in the same market”. Ok,…, and perhaps we can operate together as to leverage impact and grow together???
It is this attitude that distinguishes the REAL ENGAGED people from the “greenwashers”, for whom the green market is just another way of doing business … the other ones are the true daring innovators who integrate the tree pillars of Sustainability and who also invest in the social one.
One of these amazing people is Maria Snyder, former super model and ECO pioneer. Maria and I met some time ago and operate in the field of sustainability with similar gusto AND projects. She developed Eco Boys and Girls, I created Eco Hero. Yet we discovered and recognized we come from a similar root, the vision to truly empower people and be generous about it.
It is why we are helping each other to grow in an area we are passionate about and I am therefore pleased to invite all of you to discover her fabulous work.
She has not only been the muse to Yves St. Laurent, but also designed her own line of jewelry and fabulous art pieces inspired by LOVE but is now ready to share her latest creations with you: welcome to her Eco Boys and Girls.
The location for their global launch will be the Liberty Science Center on April 24th where the ECO BOYS AND GIRLS™ will be introduced: earth-friendly educational animated characters. The short film featuring the characters and a series of earth friendly activities at Liberty Science Center will premiere Earth Week (April 17-29). Five big, bold, colorful Eco characters created by Maria Snyder will be introduced: Ernie Earth©, Lulu Love©, Patsy Peace©, Ray Recycle© and Sammy Sun©.
To Maria Snyder, the ECO BOYS AND GIRLS brand represents a chance for the next generation to become ECO HEROES, able to improve their lives and the lives of others by acknowledging that “We Create The World We Live In.”
